Relief for Pune students as DTE extends deadline for admission to diploma courses

The dates are valid for students undertaking admission through centralised admission process

Following incessant rains across several parts of the state, the directorate of technical education (DTE), Maharashtra, has decided to extend the dates for online registration in the admission process for diploma (technical) courses, bringing a relief to many students.

The dates for online registration in the admission process for courses in post-secondary school certificate (SSC, Class 10) first year diploma in engineering and technology programme (polytechnic), post-higher secondary certificate (HSC, Class 12) first year diploma in pharmacy, surface coating technology, hotel management and catering technology, and direct second year diploma in engineering and technology(polytechnic) are extended to help more students complete the requisite application.

“In several parts of the state, including Mumbai, Nagpur and Konkan, heavy rains have completely paralysed the transportation system. Due to this many students could not complete the online registration, document verification and confirmation of application at the respective facilitation centres. We wanted to make sure that the opportunity is available for all and so the extension was necessary,” said a DTE official.

As per the circular released on the official website of DTE Maharashtra, the last date for online registration, documents verification and confirmation of application at respective facilitation centre, for the first year, post-SSC diploma have been postponed to July 20, from the previous date of July 16.

For the first year post-HSC diploma courses, the deadline for the same is July 19, as opposed to July 17 earlier, and for the students who are seeking to get a direct admission to second year diploma courses, the last date has been shifted from July 12 to July 16.

These dates are valid for students undertaking the admission process from the centralised admission process (CAP). However, those who are considering to apply for the non-CAP seats, the last date for online registration, verification and confirmation is till August 27, 5 pm, at the respective facilitation centres.
