Earlier, medical superintendent Dr VK Sharda held the charge of above services, who had courted controversy for not providing required medicines to the patients. Principal of the college Dr KD Singh said DMS Harshinder Kaur will hold the charge of emergency 1 and 2, emergency operation theatre and ward number 1 from THursday onwards. Singh said the charges were shifted to DMS for the only objective to streamline emergency services in the hospital besides ensuring availability of free medicines in the hospital.

“The shifting of the charge has been done in the larger interest of patients and institution,” he said. The mobile number of the DMS will be displayed in different corners of the emergency ward so that patients and their attendants could contact her in case they faced any inconvenience.
