A picture being shared widely on Twitter captures this euphoria aptly. Even as most of the discussion is centred around either the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or the Congress winning the elections, Raminder Singh, a Lambi resident, believes Akalis will score a historic hat-trick.

Challenging him is another resident from chief minister Parkash Singh’s Badal’s stronghold, Gurvinder Singh, who says the Congress led by Capt Amarinder Singh will form the government. On stake are Rs 5 lakh. The betting amount has been duly locked in a cheque in Raminder’s name. The pictures of the deal have been posted on Twitter to ensure that none backs out of the deal.
