All pending cases of social security pension cleared in state, says ID Lakhanpal

All 10,369 pending cases under the social security pension scheme have been cleared and people have been getting pensions for 2013-14, says Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, the chief parliamentary secretary, here on Friday.

All 10,369 pending cases under the social security pension scheme have been cleared and people have been getting pensions for 2013-14, says Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, the chief parliamentary secretary, here on Friday.

He said as many as 2, 92,921 widows, aged and destitute, were getting the social security pension in the state.

Lakhanpal said the state government was committed to the welfare of the poor, and 30% of the total budget was being spent on helping people under the social security programme.

He also listened people's grievances and directed the authorities to solve them on priority basis.

The CPS said the Congress had made its election manifesto as the main document of the government, and all steps were being taken to implement the manifesto in letter and spirit.
