Policy buyer Pratap Singh and his wife, Paramjit Kaur, who are from Butela; insurance company’s branch manager Raj Pal; and agent Gurvinder Singh, who was arrested on Monday, are the accused.

Vivek Kumar, another branch manager of the company, said that in July 2014, Paramjit Kaur had reported her husband dead, and in connivance with the other accused, claimed Rs 1.10 crore as insurance money.

When the company came to know that Pratap Singh was alive, it approached the police, who have arrested only the agent, so far, while the other accused are on the run. Police said a manhunt for them was on.
