Child trafficking racket: 2 more sent to Kapurthala jail

Kaur of Banga’s Patti Matt Wali village along with Dr Vishal Bhanot, 45, of Urban Estate Phase-2, Seema Harjinder Kaur, 30, of Sangat Singh Nagar, was nabbed by the city police for trying to sell a four-month-old baby boy for Rs 5 lakh at Baj Celebration hotel on the Garha road here.

The baby’s maternal grandmother Asha, 50, and grandfather Brij Mohan, 55, of Madhuban Colony in Basti Bawa Khel of the city, were also taken into custody.

However, both Kaur and Seema were taken on two-day police custody while others were sent to the jail on July 15.

Dr Ramandeep was the general manager of the City ART Services Private Limited that had been offering the services of the sperm bank and surrogacy from a rented accommodation in Gian Nagar of the city for the last one year.
