Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira and former minister Joginder Singh Mann, who led the protest on Friday, said that if the police failed to release the protesters within two days, they would intensify their protest to pressure the police to dismiss the case against innocent Sikh protesters.

However, MLA Navtej Singh Cheema, who had initiated the protest in Sultanpur Lodhi on October 24, remained missing from the protest.

Hundreds of protesters sat on a road outside the old courts and raised slogans against the police and the state government.
