DC inspects flood protection work
Deputy commissioner Varun Roojam visited flood prone sites in Dasuya to take stock of the flood protection measures being taken by the drainage department on Saturday. He was accompanied by SDM Barjinder Singh. He visited Rara, Mewa Miani and Passi Bet villages, situated in the vicinity of Beas river.

Deputy commissioner Varun Roojam visited flood prone sites in Dasuya to take stock of the flood protection measures being taken by the drainage department on Saturday.
He was accompanied by SDM Barjinder Singh. He visited Rara, Mewa Miani and Passi Bet villages, situated in the vicinity of Beas river.
Executive engineer VK Gupta said that a 270-ft long rebuttment was being raised along the river in Rara and 400 ft in Mewa Miani. The deputy commissioner said that all works must be completed at the earliest. He also asked the officials to keep equipment ready to tackle eventuality of floods.
