Eight booked by Nurmahal police for robbing NRI

Nurmahal police has charged Jaswinder Singh and Gurdev Singh, residents of Partap Pura village, and their six unidentified accomplices with criminal conspiracy, theft, rioting and voluntarily causing hurt besides wrongful restraint on a complaint by an NRI.

Nurmahal police on Tuesday charged Jaswinder Singh and Gurdev Singh, residents of Partap Pura village, and their six unidentified accomplices with criminal conspiracy, theft, rioting and voluntarily causing hurt besides wrongful restraint.

The case was registered on a complaint filed by Hardeep Singh, an NRI and native of Partap Pura village, who told the police that the accused attacked him on February 26 and stole his bag containing Rs 90,000, 1,000 US dollars and 1,200 British pounds, a gold chain and three mobile phones.

He said that a land dispute was the reason behind the attack. SHO Subash Bath said that a case under Sections 120-B, 148, 149, 323, 341 and 379 of IPC had been registered.
