“The girl was under the stress of her board examinations and that is believed to be the reason for suicide,” assistant subinspector Raminder Pal Singh, investigating officer from the Sultanwind police station, confirmed. The police have started investigating the matter.
The victim was one of the four children of a head constable in Government Railway Police (GRP) and studying in a local government school.
Inspector Arun Sharma, station house officer of Sultnwind, said the girl had been in depression for the days and her family had confirmed the same. Her relatives who had read the signs first suspected that it might be because of performance anxiety.
The victim’s mother is a housewife. The autopsy procedure is over.
