Though senior police officers have tried to pass off the kidnapping of the Faridkot minor girl as elopement while she was in the custody of the accused and after she was rescued from Goa, the victim's statement in the chargesheet against the accused is contradictory to police claims.
The copies of the chargesheets were provided to the accused on Wednesday.
In her statement, the victim had narrated how she was kept forcibly in Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa and Kharar by the main accused and his accomplices by constantly threatening and terrorising her. She was molested and forced to remain silent as the accused threatened to cause harm to her parents.
The girl had also recorded that the accused got letters written by her and the photographs by pressuring and beating her up. By making these letters and photos public, police damaged her image, she said.
She added that she made two attempts to escape from the clutches of the accused, but both times she was caught by his aides and beaten up.
The police had earlier emailed her photographs with the accused, Nishan Singh, showing them married and also released her alleged letters to the media via email using the official computers of the Faridkot police presenting the kidnapping as elopement. Senior police officers also made statements to the media projecting it as elopement even after she was rescued from Goa while the girl in her statement recorded to the police narrated that how she was kidnapped from her home and kept in custody by threatening her.
