In a statement issued on Friday, he said that even as Sikh students were barred from sporting turbans in schools in France, they were also not allowed to sport turbans to get pictures for their passports, licences and identity cards.

"The French government should allow Sikh students to sport turbans in schools and colleges, and also allow the Sikhs to get their photographs clicked with their turbans," he said.
