Police seized the car of the accused that he abandoned during the police raid. Cops found three sets of fake number plates inside the car.

Assitant sub-inspector Mohan Lal, who is investigating the matter, said Bambiha along with his accomplices was at Inderjit’s house where they were planning a loot.

Police raided the house early on Sunday morning but the accused managed to flee, he added.

Bambiha is wanted for killing sarpanch Ravi Khwajke. He gunned down Khwajke on February 20 at a marriage function, pumping 14 bullets into his body. Bambiha is also an active Facebook user.

Sadar police have registered a case under Sections 399 (making preparation to commit dacoity), 402 (assembling for purpose of committing dacoity) and 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal, etc, with intent to commit forgery punishable otherwise) of the Indian Penal Code against Bambiha and his accomplices.
