According to villagers, Singh's family lived here for long. Though Bikram Singh was not born here, he occasionally visited the place as a child. Joginder Lal of the village, who retired from the army, said, "It is a proud moment for the village. Father of Lt Gen Bikram Singh was also in the army and lived here. The villagers are happy to have received the news."
