On February 26, the man she trusted on teacher's assurance allegedly took her by bus to the Jandiala bypass and then Sangrur after a few other places, where she was raped.

She slipped away from Sangrur, reached home, and approached the police, who registered a case on Friday at Patti against main accused Vicky, teacher Neeraj Pathak, and a woman named Rani under Sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366-A (procuring a minor girl), 376 (punishment for rape), and 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). No one is arrested yet.

In her complaint, the victim has said that Vicky was a frequent visitor to the school to perform magic for the
students, and during one of these shows, teacher Neeraj Pathak had introduced him to her. Sub-inspector Baljit Kaur, in charge of the women's cell at the Patti police station, said Vicky had taken the girl to Sangrur on the pretext that he needed her assistance in a magic show.

"Accused Rani is sister-in-law of Vicky and she had helped him in the crime. A hunt is on for the accused," said the officer.
