Congressman Charanjit Singh Grewal, alias Jassraj Grewal, who had accused the Congress member parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu for cheating and threatening, has now accused the MP for faking compromise and apology letter.
"Neither I have given any apology letter to Bittu, nor signed any," said Grewal. He alleged that the apology letter that the followers of Bittu had produced was forged.
Grewal said, he, along with his supporters, was peacefully agitating against Bittu near the Circuit House on May 10. Bittu, along with Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu and others, had tried to push him in the car and thrashed him.
"I had not breached the security cover of Bittu and not vandalised the windowpane of his car. It is a brainchild of the Congressmen who wanted to supress my voice. I have video evidences in my favour," he said.
'Cops illegally confined me, 2 women'
"The police had taken me along with my wife, friend Sumit and his mother Davinder Kaur to the PAU police station, where the police had threatened us to withdraw the complaint that I had filed against Bittu, but I denied. The police had illegally confined me and two women in the police station for atleast six hours," he alleged.
'No action by police'
Grewal said, "I had filed complaint against Bittu on May 4. But the police had not taken any action on it. I had tried to file a complaint against Bittu and others on May 10 again for assaulting me and some women, but the police denied receiving the complaint, even the pictures of the incident were published in various newspapers in which MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu and other Congressmen were captured assaulting them."
'Will file writ petition in HC'
He further added that he would file a writ petition in this context in the Punjab and Haryana high court for justice, as the Ludhiana police were not taking ay action on his complaint "under the MP's influence".Despite repeated calls and messages MP Ravneet Singh Bittu could not be contacted.
It is pertinent to mention that the Congressmen had circulated a compromise and apology letter on May 10 after the Circuit House incident. The Congressmen had claimed that Grewal had apologised for his act and had also promised to withdraw the complaint that he had filed against Bittu.
