Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege incidents: Akal Takht calls meeting on Sept 6

Concerned over repeated sacrilege incidents of Guru Granth Sahib, Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has called a meeting of jathedars of all takhts and other Sikh bodies on September 6.

Concerned over repeated sacrilege incidents of Guru Granth Sahib, Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has called a meeting of jathedars of all takhts and other Sikh bodies on September 6.

In a release issued in Amritsar on Tuesday, Giani Gurbachan Singh said jathedars of all takhts, former jathedars, representatives of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Damdami Taksal, Nihang organisations and Sikh scholars can send their representatives to Akal Takht for the meeting.

The jathedar said the government and police need to work actively to check such incidents.
