“The recent incident of announcing your candidature against the party’s nominee from Bhiwani-Mahendergarh Lok Sabha constituency Shruti Choudhry also amounts to gross indiscipline. You are therefore asked to send your explanation within three days and also explain why a disciplinary action should not be initiated against you as per the constitution of the Indian National Congress,” the show- cause notice said.

However, as per the constitution of the party, “no disciplinary action shall be taken without an opportunity being given, with at least two week’s notice to the individual concerned to explain his case and answer the charges as are made against him. Only the Congress Working Committee can reduce the period of notice when it deems fit to do so”.

Dharambir had no Sunday organsied a rally in Bhiwani where he publicly criticised the Congress-led government in Haryana and also announced his resignation from the post of chief parliamentary secretary.
