HC stays land dispossession of 16 Badshahpur villagers

Considering a petition of 16 villagers of Badshahpur in Gurgaon challenging Haryana government's decision of acquiring their two acres land in 2012 and arbitrarily releasing 95% of land on 'pick and choose basis', including Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, the Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday stayed dispossession of petitioners' land.

The division bench headed by justice Surya Kant issued notice of motion to the state government as well as six private builders to explain their stand by May 5.

These private builders who had been issued licences for constructing group housing societies include Ansal Properties, EMMAR MGF, Commander Realtors, Active Promoters, Re-India Project and Lord Krishana Infrastructures.
