The Bilga police on Sunday arrested six people on a charge of illegal sand mining. Accused Gurdev Singh, Malnider Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Gurmit Singh, Tajinder Singh, and Baldev Singh are from Rurrki village, station house officer (SHO) DS Gill has said. Block mining officer Haripal had complained to police against them. Cases of theft, illegal mining, and commercial use of other vehicles were registered and tractors-trailers loaded with sand impounded.
