It’s raining jobs: Punjab govt to fill 12,747 posts in 6 depts

The Punjab cabinet on Saturday gave approval to fill 12,747 posts of different cadres in six state government departments.

The Punjab cabinet on Saturday gave approval to fill 12,747 posts of different cadres in six state government departments.

The decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal at Punjab Bhawan here.

Earlier, the cabinet had given nod to fill 1,13,766 posts in 41 departments.

A government spokesperson said the posts in Group A, B, C and D categories in various departments, including home affairs & justice, welfare of scheduled castes and backward classes, irrigation, cooperation, planning and technical education & industrial training, will be filled soon.

The new recruits will be paid basic pay drawn on the day of appointment for three years. Thereafter, they will draw full salary and allowances as admissible in the relevant service rules.

The cabinet also cleared proposal for creation of eight additional posts of under secretaries and one post of superintendent in the Punjab civil secretariat.
