Jazzy B detained at Chandigarh airport with cash

Punjabi singer and actor Jaswinder Singh Bains, better known as Jazzy B, was detained at the Chandigarh international airport on Wednesday allegedly for carrying cash above permissible limits.

According to sources, he was detained with Rs 5 lakh unaccounted-for cash when he reached Chandigarh at 1.30 pm from Delhi on a GoAir flight. A team headed by MS Sehgal, deputy director of income tax and investigation department, apprehended Jazzy, who is known for his songs ‘Romeo’ and ‘This Party Gettin’ Hot’ in which he collaborated with rapper-producer Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Sources said at the time of filing of this report around 10.30pm, he was still at the airport and interrogation was on. “We will seize the amount and further investigate if he cannot explain the source. We had received information from the income tax intelligence wing, Delhi,” said an official.
