Dinesh Kumar said the boy used to sell chicken soup in the area and was earlier rescued in March, but his mother forced him to work at the same place again.

Medical test of the child was conducted at Lord Maharvira Hospital after which he was sent to Kurali Child Home instead of Amritsar, his native place.

District task force conducted the check-up of the boy, with the help of the NGO to identify and rescue the kid. Dinesh, who rescued the boy, said, "On being rescued, the boy complained that his mother forced him to work at the chicken 'rehri'. He also complained that the owner of the rehri beat him up on a regular basis".
