The canteen is the only source of tea or other eatables for the employees of the administration. The contractor had tried to put a temporary lid on the tanks, but they couldn't survive even for a few days. Despite various attempts to contact food inspector Jaswinder Kaur, she was unavailable for comment.
District health officer Kulvinder Singh said, "The health department does collect samples after short interval. However, I am not responsible for the open lids of the tanks, but I will make sure that the issue gets resolved soon." Civil surgeon Hardit Singh said, "I am not aware of such things. However, I will send the sanitary inspector to check and do the needful."
