Man arrested for molesting 15-yr-old

A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and molesting a 15-year-old girl, following an enmity with her mother, at New Aman Nagar in Daba on Saturday.The accused has been identified as Sunny of New Aman Nagar. Sub-inspector Kamal Dutt of Daba police station, said the victim’s mother was arrested in August last for allegedly running a prostitution racket.

Since her arrest, Sunny had been claiming that he gave a tipoff about the racket to police, following which the duo had developed an enmity.
The victim’s mother alleged that Sunny barged into her house on Saturday and thrashed her 15-year-old daughter, before molesting her.

The sub-inspector said the accused was arrested on Saturday night and on Sunday produced before the court that sent him to Ludhiana central jail on judicial custody. A case under section 451 (house-trespass) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC and section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered.
