
Man murders child as woman says no to ‘relations’ with him
A man, failing to convince a woman to have a relationship with him, strangulated her seven-year child to death at the Vardhman Colony near here on Tuesday night.
Complainant Kajal Devi, mother of victim Shubham, alleged that Raj Kumar, 35, originally a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who worked in a factory with her husband, strangulated her son to death on Tuesday night. The victim’s family belongs to Bihar.
The complainant alleged that the accused entered her house in the colony by jumping over the wall at about 1:30 am when her husband was in the factory on duty and broke open the door and forced her to have ‘illicit relationship’ with him.
“As the woman objected to it, the accused, in a fit of rage, strangulated the child, who was sleeping nearby, to death with his hands,” said in-charge of Vardhman police post assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gurmail Singh. The accused, who managed to flee the spot, has been arrested. A case under section 302 of the IPC and was sent in judicial custody by a court on Wednesday.
