According to an MC official, the project would also be sent for approval of Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting after opening of financial bid. Mechanised sweeping will be done on major city roads, including Mall Road, Old GT Road from Jalandhar Bypass to Dholewal Chowk, Chandigarh Road, Pakhowal Road, College Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Hambran Road, Gill Road, Dugri Road and Link Road.

Tenders for City Bus to be opened on Oct 30

The tenders to invite firms for operation and maintenance for Ludhiana City buses will be opened on October 30 now. Earlier, the bid was to be opened on October 15.

Sources said that three-four firms were interested to participate in the bid, but they had demanded the MC to extend the date of opening of the tender.

Assistant commissioner Satwant Singh said that the date for opening of bid has been extended. "We will open the bid on October 30", he added.
