Modi's visit has given workers tremendous enthusiasm

Punjab BJP Chief Kamal Sharma, in Amritsar, to prepare for Narendra Modi's visit, said: "I have already visited Jalandhar, Batala, Pathankot and Gurdaspur to mobilise workers for Modi's maiden visit. It is an honour that Modi will be addressing the people of Punjab."

On a question that has Modi's elevation led to a braking up og the NDA, Sharma said, "I don't think so. I feel that with Modi leading the campaign, it will galvanize the BJP workers for the Lok Sabha Polls. NDA is strong and set for the polls."

Talking of Punjab, Sharma said, "Already the party is working for the Lok Sabha polls and work has started in all the constituencies wherein BJP candidates contest. It's party high command that will decide on the candidates."

When asked about Amritsar MP Navjot Sidhu and his absence from the city, Sharma said, "Sidhu has some commercial compulsions. Soon, he will be back and will work for the party."


Narendra Modi will be visiting Madhopur in Pathankot on June 23 to attend a function.
Modi will pay tributes to Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Madhopur on the Punjab-J&K border on June 23.
