Former Ludhiana district Congress president Pawan Dewan was appointed as party’s Punjab unit general secretary on Friday.

Former Ludhiana district Congress president Pawan Dewan was appointed as party’s Punjab unit general secretary on Friday.
A confidante of Punjab Congress Committee (PCC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh, Dewan was ousted by the former PCC chief Pratap Singh Bajwa.
“Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the appointment of Pawan Dewan as general secretary of PPCC and Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa as president of district Congress committee, Ferozepur,” AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said in an order.
Congress had announced a jumbo PPCC recently, while accommodating a large number of Punjab Congressmen in the list.
