Perform or face action, DHBVN officials told

Additional chief secretary (power) Rajan Gupta on Friday asked senior officers of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam to pull up their socks. "Only performance will determine whether an official is good or bad. The officials performing well will get full support but the non-performing ones will face stern action," he said while addressing officials.

DHBVN managing director VK Chaudhary, director PC Gupta and all other senior officers of the rank of chief engineer, superintending engineer, chief accounts officer were present. Gupta asked the officers to send the message to the employees at lower level that they will have to perform efficiently in the interest of the DHBVN and the people of the state.

He added that billing efficiency, including accuracy in reading, timely delivery of bills and collection of revenue before the due date, should be the focus. The officials will be accountable for low collection efficiency. He said only the minimum technical loss is allowable and not any commercial loss. He said the bills should be printed at sub divisional level to improve billing service.

Gupta added that indiscipline among consumers and non-performance on part of electricity officials are equally responsible for low efficiency in revenue recovery and non availability of service of desired standard. He said the juncture compels electricity utilities to enhance efficiency and excellence in power distribution as this is the only way to satisft consumers.
