The petition from Ravneet Kaur and others had challenged the 2016 Pre-Medical Entrance Test (PMET) and sought a stay on counselling. University counsel Anupam Gupta submitted before the bench of justice GS Sandhawalia that there was no question of holding counselling when the BFUHS had only sought preferences, so far, from the applicants.
The university had issued a public notice to ask the applicants to submit their choice of colleges and categories between July 6 and 11, and it is this notice that the petitioners had challenged in an application filed subsequent to main petition filed on July 4. In the July 4 petition, they want the June 10 PMET re-conducted, arguing that the result is based on percentile score against the examination rules. The next hearing is on July 25.
