Punjab Agricultural University horticulturist gets distinguished scientist award

A horticulturist at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), WS Dhillon, has been awarded with "Distinguished Scientist Award-2014" for his outstanding contributions to the field of horticulture.

A horticulturist at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), WS Dhillon, has been awarded with "Distinguished Scientist Award-2014" for his outstanding contributions to the field of horticulture.

The Hi-Tech, Horticultural Society presented the award to Dhillon during an international conference on "Technical Interventions in Agricultural Sciences for Enhanced Productivity, Nutritional Quality and Value Addition (TIAS-2014)"
held recently.

The award ceremony was organised at the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), department of agriculture and cooperation, ministry of agriculture, Medziphema, Dimapur, Nagaland. Currently, Dhillon is working as director, Punjab Horticultural Post-harvest Technology Centre, PAU. He has immensely contributed to the field of crop improvement, agro-horti techniques and post-harvest handling of perishables. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards by various agencies.

During the conference, Dhillon also chaired one of the technical sessions, and delivered a lead lecture. He was nominated as a member of Technical Advisory Committee of CIH, Dimapur by ministry of agriculture.
