Punjab Roadways employees staged protest at the Punjab Roadways workshop at Shaheed Sukhdev Inter-State Bus Terminus on Monday.

Punjab Roadways employees staged protest at the Punjab Roadways workshop at Shaheed Sukhdev Inter-State Bus Terminus on Monday.

The employees were demanding that 265 Pun buses be merged into Punjab roadways as there was no loan left on Punjab Roadways side. Earlier, the buses were purchased on loan after which Punjab Roadways had paid the installments of loan as per claims of protesting employees.

Pradeep Kumar, president of the Punjab Government Transport Worker Union (AITUC) said, “The employees are opposing the new time table prepared by the state government. We are also demanding that there should be no political interference in compilation of time table.”

They also demanded the jobs to a kin in case of any employee's death.
