Confirming the arrest of one Anil Kumar, who said he was engaged by the Board to receive examination forms and issue receipts for the exam fee, assistant commissioner of police Naresh Dogra said that the accused collected a late fee of Rs 500 each over and above the prescribed fee for each compartment and reappear examination form from each applicant.

The police officer said the Board's local office received more than 150 such examination forms on Tuesday and Wednesday and accused had issued back-dated receipts.

But Board's manager Sucheta Kalia said they had not engaged any outside person to receive examination forms or to issue receipts.

Police, who acted on complaints received from parents and guardians of the prospective examinees, are investigating further, Dogra said.
