Rain in Punjab; Met dept sees sunny days ahead

The Punjab Agricultural University's (PAU) meteorology department in Ludhiana on Saturday said that the intense rainfall that lashed the region could be due to western disturbances that were active for the past two-three days.

The Punjab Agricultural University's (PAU) meteorology department in Ludhiana on Saturday said that the intense rainfall that lashed the region could be due to western disturbances that were active for the past two-three days.

Rain lashed several parts of the state on Friday evening and continued till Saturday morning, bringing down the mercury by at least 3 degrees.

KK Gill of the meteorology department said that the humidity level in morning and evening was higher than normal for the past three days.

"Rain was expected. However, the weather will clear up from from Sunday. The temperature is also expected to rise in the coming days," he added.
