Shimla: Punjab youth gets 2-year jail in drug case

Gurmeet Singh was convicted and sentenced for two years of rigorous imprisonment on the basis of the depositions of eye witnesses, police witnesses and the forensic evidence.

Local court at Chamba on Wednesday has sentenced a Punjab youth for two years in a drug case.

Lower division special judge Yogesh Jaswal convicted Gurmeet Singh, 27, of Ludhiana to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 under section 20 of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
