Rising above politics affiliations, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and union minister of state for information and broadcasting Manish Tewari not only shared the stage but also praised each other at the inaugural session of the National Youth Festival that got underway here on Sunday.
Tewari, the Ludhiana MP, has been targeting the SAD-BJP government over various issues, including alleged misuse of central funds, while Sukhbir has been consistently slamming the Congress and the UPA for its policies.
Tewari said the event (National Youth Festival) had been a success with the help of the state government and the deputy CM.
In his speech, Sukhbir addressed Tewari and union minister of state for sports and youth affairs Jitendra Singh as competent, hardworking and youthful.
Jitendra Singh lauded the arrangements made by the state government and appreciated the drive initiated for the eradication of the drug menace.
Sukhbir also mentioned that the state would implement all schemes for the youth initiated by the Centre.
