Sukhu has shot simultaneous letters to the chief minister and health minister Kaul Singh Thakur. In the letters, Sukhu alleged that the university was violating provisions of its own act.

Sukhu maintained that according to Section 7 of the Maharishi Markandeshwar University Act, there was no provision to affiliate or otherwise admit to its privileges any other institutions in the state. He alleged that the university had violated the act and had already started 150-seat medical college which was affiliated to Markandeshwar University established at Solan district.

“Since the university does not have any facility to handle outdoor or indoor patients as it does not have a hospital of its own, the university is running a medical college,” said Sukhu.

Sukhu demanded that the university should be barred from holding examinations for its medical college, since it has not confirmed to rules and regulations of its own University Act.

Sukhu demanded that only Himachal Pradesh University should be authorised to conduct examination for its medical college.

He demanded immediate inquiry into the alleged irregularities.

Besides, an inquiry should be immediately conducted into irregularities conducted by the university and further the matter be brought to the notice of the Medical Council of India.
