A taxi driver, who hails from Patiala district, has become a millionaire overnight, after winning a 1.5-crore lottery.

Nirmal Singh, a resident of Lelaan village of Patiala who runs a taxi in Chandigarh, has won Baisakhi Bumper-2018 of 1.50 crore. The award has been claimed on the ticket number B-758200 purchased by Nirmal.

A spokesperson for the lottery department said the draw of lots for Baisakhi Bumper-2018 was conducted on April 18 in Ludhiana. He said Nirmal Singh had purchased the ticket from Shiva Lottery of Manakpur village in Patiala.
