Gangster Dilpreet sent to 2-day police remand
The cops sought two-day remand to investigate the firing incident on July 10, and the court allowed it.
A local court here on Friday granted police remand for two days to gangster Dilpreet Singh. The Chandigarh Police submitted an application stating that he could not produced before the court of judicial magistrate first class Suman Patlain due to his medical condition. The magistrate allowed the plea.

The dreaded gangster was arrested on Monday afternoon by the Punjab Police from Sector 43 here after an exchange of fire. He was caught from near the busy Sector-43 ISBT by a joint team of the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Intelligence and the Jalandhar police in coordination with the Chandigarh police.
Wanted in over 30 criminal cases — including murder and attempt to murder, in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh — Dilpreet had become the prime target of the state police after he claimed responsibility for the attack on Punjabi singer Parmish Verma in April 2018 and issued extortion threats to Gippy Grewal in June.
Last year, his name had cropped up in connection with the broad daylight murder of Satnam Singh, sarpanch of a Hoshiparpur village, outside a gurdwara in Sector 38 here.
The police had recovered one pistol along with cartridges, 1.30-bore rifle along with 28 cartridges, 59 cartridges of .12 bore and one belt of cartridges, besides two fake number places, three hockey sticks, one iron rod from the gangster’s vehicle. Also, a fake beard and moustache identical to the one used by him in photos posted online was recovered. Officials said Dilpreet was also allegedly supplying ‘chitta’ and arms/ ammunition to gangsters and had a “hideout” in a Sector 38 house here.
