State general secretary of the union Jagtar Singh Mahinangal said that the state government was not showing any interest in fulfilling the posts of 4,000 linemen, for which the government had advertised in January.
He said that government had advertised for fulfilling the posts of 5,000 linemen in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) but out of this only 1,000 pots have been filled while PSPCL was deliberately not making any initiative in direction of fulfilling the rest of the posts.
Mahinangal, however, said that the Punjab and Haryana high court on February 22 had clearly ruled that the state government was free to fill these posts.
