Some relatives of the woman even entered the school premises and damaged a scooter parked inside.
They later demanded the school be shut down immediately.

Earlier on Tuesday evening the woman had called up her parents telling them she had married the school’s director, Ravinder Singh Nijher, which apparently made them furious. Both of them have not been coming to the school since Sunday.

The woman’s mother, Paramjeet Kaur, accused Nijher of kidnapping her daughter and asserted the family would not allow the school to function unless the police traced the whereabouts of both.

Sensing the situation was getting out of hand, cops from the Daba, Simlapuri and Dugri police stations arrived at the scene and asked officials of the school to shut it down for the time being.

Station house officer (SHO) Jatinder Singh, Daba police station, said the woman’s parents had filed a complaint with the police.

“As the woman had herself called up her family members and told them she had married the school director at her own will, we’ll decide on the further course only after both have been located,” The station house officer added.
