Youth shot dead in Kapurthala village

A 22-year-old farmer Roshan Lal, of Raipur Aaria village in Kapurthala district, was shot dead on Sunday by unidentified persons who were trying to take away a refrigerator from his neighbour's house as they had failed to pay the monthly installment on it.

Roshan's cousin Lucky also sustained serious injuries on the head and arms and was admitted at the Jalandhar civil hospital.
Stephen, Roshan's uncle, said unidentified persons, mostly financers were taking the refrigerator out into the street. Roshan was standing near the house on Sunday afternoon and one of them shot at Roshan and the bullet hit his thigh, said his uncle.

Roshan was taken to two hospitals before being referred to the Jalandhar civil hospital where he was declared dead.

However, till the filing of this report, the Subhanpur police were yet to register an FIR in the case.
