Vedalam BO: With Rs 15.5 cr, Vedalam sets new first day record
The film reinforces Ajith’s formidable clout on the Tamil Nadu box office: His last four films -- Yennai Arindhaal, Veeram, Arrambam and Billa II - made it big on the BO on a trot. The songs of the film, particularly Aluma Doluma with its rap by music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Bollywood’s Badshah, has been ruling the charts from much before the film’s Diwali release, pretty much setting the tone for its prospects on the BO.
