It’s official: Nayanthara teams up with Ajith in Viswasam
It was originally rumoured that Anushka Shetty was being considered for the titular role for Viswasam.Updated: Feb 07, 2018 10:45 IST
After weeks of speculation, the makers of Ajith’s upcoming film Viswasam on Monday made it official that Nayanthara will play the film’s leading lady. Last seen working together in Aarrambam, Ajith and Nayanthara combo was also seen in films such as Billa and Aegan. It was originally rumoured that Anushka Shetty was being considered for the titular role; however, those reports were never clarified by the makers. On a career high with projects such as Aramm and Velaikkaran, it’ll be really interesting to see Nayanthara hog the limelight in a star-studded project like Viswasam.
We had already reported that Thala Ajith and director Siva, following their recent collaboration in Vivegam, have teamed up for the fourth time in Viswasam, slated to go on the floors later this month. So far, it is only known that Ajith and Nayanthara are part of the cast. While reports suggest that U-Turn girl Shraddha Srinath may have landed a plum role in the film, little does one know about the rest of the cast? The team is yet to finalise the entire crew but it has been learnt that composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who’s last outing with Ajith was Aarrambam, is all set to reunite with the star in this project. However, we’ve learnt from reliable sources from the film’s unit that he may have been replaced by Anirudh Ravichander.
Having worked with Anirudh Ravichander in his last outings -- Vedalam and Vivegam -- which were blockbusters and the music played a pivotal part in the success, it will be Siva’s first time union with Yuvan. Even though The Ajith-Yuvan combo has already sent fans into frenzy, Siva is apparently not too keen about the combination and he’s trying his best to get Anirudh on board, according to our sources. It has to be seen if Anirudh, whose next big outing with NTR-Trivikram film, will be able oblige Siva’s request.
