Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Raja The Great will see the actor play the role of a blind, but highly smart man who has the power to control any given situation. He calls himself a warrior, and his mother puts him to the task of saving a girl (Mehreen Pirzada). There will be hi-octane action sequences and a couple of them that we could see in the trailer gives us a foreboding sense of a commercial film that lacks logic.
However, what could work for this film is the fact that Ravi Teja, one of the most popular Tollywood actors, will be seen on the silver screen after a gap of two years.
Ravi Teja’s film is an action-comedy and to probably stress this fact, the movie also takes a dig at director Ram Gopal Varma. Towards the end of the trailer, Ravi Teja says its ‘laughing time’.
He was last seen in Bengal Tiger and went into a hiatus after this. The actor has been going through a tough time in his personal life. His brother passed away recently in a car accident. After this, the actor himself was alleged to be connected to one of the underground druglords in Hyderabad along with many other artistes in the industry. The Tollywood drug probe, in fact, grabbed the attention of the national media as well.
So, this film’s performance could help Ravi Teja in more than one way. Raja The Great is directed by Anil Ravipudi and also stars Radhika Sarathkumar and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release for Diwali this year.
