Raju Murugan to work with newcomers for next film

Journalist-turned-filmmaker Raju Murugan, who made a mark with his Tamil debut film Cuckoo in 2014, is now busy shooting his second Tamil film with a slew of newcomers.

Journalist-turned-filmmaker Raju Murugan came to limelight with his work Cuckoo in 2014.

“The regular shooting started four days ago near Dharampuri. The lead cast features mostly newcomers. Along the lines of his debut film, this one too will be very unconventional from the usual crop of films,” said a source from the film’s unit.

Over the last few months, the first-time actors underwent an acting workshop.

“Even for ‘Cuckoo’, Raju made his lead actors undergo a special workshop,” the source said. The film is being produced by Potential Studios, who recently bankrolled Tamil horror hit Maya.
