Actor Siddharth Gopinaths’s wife Smrija allegedly committed suicide after a heated argument with her husband on Tuesday.

Actor Siddharth Gopinath’s wife Smrija allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday, according to reports in local media. The actor’s wife was found hanging from the ceiling in her room. The reports also suggest that Gopinath and his wife had an argument before the incident their residence in Maduravoyal, Chennai. The police have started investigation in the case.

Actor Siddharth Gopinath and wife Smrija were married for three years.

Popular web portal Behindwoods quoted an official as saying, “The couple had gone out last night and after coming home, they had an argument over a personal issue. Looks like the argument turned serious that led the woman to commit suicide late in the night while her husband was asleep in the hall. We got the information today morning. The investigations are on.”

Siddharth reportedly informed the police when he knocked on the room door and there was no response. Once the police arrived at the residence, they had to break down the door to enter. More updates on the same are awaited.

Smrija and Siddharth have been married for three years and tied the knot in 2015. Siddharth was seen alongside Aadhi Pinisetty in the Tamil film Yaagavaarayinum Naa Kaakka.
