Actor Viraf Patel is working on Parsi New Year this time around. The actor, who prefers spending special occasions and festivals with his family in Pune, is wrapping up the shooting schedule of a web series. “Last year, I was home with family and had a blast, as I spent a week of festivities with them. This year, however, I am busy with my new project. They are very understanding and are happy that I am working. I will make it up to them later,” Viraf says, smiling.

Viraf will be next seen as a cop in a web series shot in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. “It is a murder mystery and I play a cop. I lost 7kg to fit the role, and it has been an interesting process. Shriya Pilgaonkar is also a part of the project, and it was fun and easy working with her. She is very enterprising and is a great performer. I am looking forward to the feedback for this Maharashtrian mulgi and Parsi dikra combination,” the actor says. The series is directed by Abhijit Das, who has assisted director Anurag Basu on many projects. “The project has a very interesting cast and team, which made it fun to work on,” the actor adds.

Viraf works closely with his community on several initiatives, and has helped launch a commmunity service app as well. He explains, “The app, Aapro Aap, is a non-profit and will be two-years-old soon. I am happy with the way it has progressed. We have new users and additional feedback. I have people suggest new features, or complain about certain services. This way, we know what needs to be done. Most importantly, it has brought the community together.”
