Russia to host 2020 Chess Olympiad
MOSCOW: The Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk will host the 2020 World Chess Olympiad, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, president of the World Chess Federation, confirmed on Tuesday.

MOSCOW: The Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk will host the 2020 World Chess Olympiad, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, president of the World Chess Federation, confirmed on Tuesday.
“Congratulations to Khanty-Mansiysk. It beat such countries as Argentina and Slovakia in the fight for the right to host the Chess Olympiad,” said Ilyumzhinov.
Natalya Komarova, governor of Khanty-Mansiysk, said the town will hold the best chess Olympiad in history. “We were preparing for the FIDE Congress where our bid was presented very seriously. I am confident we will be able to hold the best chess Olympiad,” she said.
